Even though the heat is oppressively hot in most parts of the world, it's significantly cooler in Australia this time of year. Chanelle creates layers without adding bulk. A clean line is maintained by staying within proportion to her body and keeping fabrics light.

Aurélia adds charm to a casual outfit by incorporating pieces with character—like the special stitching on the bag or the blue border on the cardigan's button placket. As always, make sure special elements don't compete with each other.

SIMONE | BROOKLYN | FOUNDER OF STANTON + WILLIAMS STYLE THERAPY/BLOGGER

Cardigan:Alexander Wang|Top:Theory|Skirt:Alexander Wang|Sandals:Seychelles|Clutch:Vintage|Necklace:Jin Ju Kim

I've owned this long cardigan for a week and have already worn it a couple of times. While the Style Therapy philosophy is about efficient clothing, it's also about wearing pieces you love and that feel good on. There's no shame in repeating...as long as the rest of your wardrobe isn't neglected.

SIMONE | BROOKLYN | FOUNDER OF STANTON + WILLIAMS STYLE THERAPY/BLOGGER

Cardigan:Alexander Wang|Top:Martin Margiela|Pants:Vintage|Sandals:Pierre Hardy|Bag:Louis Vuitton|Necklace:Vintage

This evening in Brooklyn the temps were a little too cool for shorts and far too warm for a coat. The Style Therapy/SYS remedy for a transitional weather? Light layers.

EMMA | SYDNEY | VINTAGE COLLECTOR + STORE OWNER | SPIN DIZZY FALL

Cardigan:Dotti|Blouse:Vintage|Velvet Skirt:Vintage|Tights:eBay|Booties:Vintage|Backpack:Vintage

It's autumn in Australia and the cooler temps necessitate heavier fabrics...but Emma's not ready for the puffy down coat just yet. SYS's Queen of Casual has opted for a longer cardigan, velvet mini, textured tights and those rich cognac booties we love so much. The marvelous thing about transitional weather is being able to layer. Keep layers light like Emma and save the bulk for more blistery days.

AURELIA| PARIS | MEDIA |FASHION IS A PLAYGROUND

Cardigan:Urban Outfitters|Dress:Zara|Sandals:Zara|Bow:Made by Aurélia |Bag:Zara|Socks:H+M

This feline print has proven to be one of the most popular features on SYS. Iris wore the dress with her own self-made collar and Alice cleverly used it as a top with high-waisted shorts. Above, Aurélia pairs the dress with a blooming bow-tie she made herself. What all three ladies did was take a Miu Miu-inspired dress that has become a Zara bestseller and made it their own with personal details.

MIA | STUTTGART | BLOGGER, STUDENT AND MODEL |WHATSHEART

Cardigan:RVCA|Romper:RVCA|Booties:Zara

Spring is being so temperamental, it's not clear on how to dress these days. Mia marries summer's romper with autumn's cardigan and the seasonless open-toe shootie for a look that's simultaneously hot and cool—both figuratively and literally.

SIMONE | BROOKLYN | FOUNDER OF STANTON + WILLIAMS STYLE THERAPY/BLOGGER

Jacket:DKNY|Cardigan:Banana Republic|Jeans:Banana Republic|Shirt:American Apparel|Scarf:Vintage|Oxfords:Repetto|Bag:Loewe|Sunglasses:Gucci|Watch:Casio

I haven't been into prints since my days as a sprout in the Miami Vice 80s and 90210 early 90s. Then Jil Sander and Helmut Lang worked their way into my head. Now I'm slowly integrating prints back into my wardrobe through scarves and tops; akin to sartorial baby steps.

RYAN | GREENPOINT | ODIN

Cardigan:Miu Miu|Shirt:Gap|Jeans:Kicking Mule Workshop|Sneakers:Converse

There's nothing better than a warm cardi (and a great smile) for one of those days when it starts at 55° rises to 70° and settles at 60°.

SIMONE | BROOKLYN | FOUNDER OF STANTON + WILLIAMS STYLE THERAPY/BLOGGER

Cardigan:Play by Comme des Garçons |Pants:Theory|Oxfords:Repetto|Shirt:H+M|Necklace:Erickson Beamon

Clearly blue shoes are my go-to for a pop color. Remember, any volume on top should be counterbalanced on the bottom.

ERICKA | BROOKLYN | ARTIST/FASHION HISTORIAN

Cardigan:Chanel|Top:Ann Taylor|Skirt:Vintage|Lace Up Booties:Frye

Ericka keeps it collegiate at Oxford University’s conference entitled Fashion: Exploring Critical Issues. Whether you’re a sophomore at Joliet Junior College or a senior at Syracuse, pajama pants and an oversized sweatshirt won’t earn you any high marks. Smart, quality separates should take you through four years of undergrad, two years of grad school and then some.
