As the founder of Stanton + Williams Style Therapy, an image consultancy based in New York and with an M.A. in Visual Culture: Fashion Theory from New York University, I’m intrigued by distinct concepts of style. Before starting my company I worked in the design department at Theory and prior to that I assisted Tim Gunn while he was chair of the fashion design department at Parsons.
I espouse wardrobe efficiency and clothing as non-verbal communication to my clients, but when I’m not teaching the tenets of Style Therapy or studying classic fashion theories, I’m scouring the marvelous selection of street style and personal style blogs to see what real people are wearing.
Magazine editorials are great for triggering the sartorial creative juices, but the style that’s within reach is found in the streets.
Enjoy, and remember to bring your A-game!
